Casino Probability and Payouts

Developers of casino software are constantly upgrading their software to try and make it better. Alot of new players tend to assume that certain games are going to offer a better return than they would have usually, which is not usually he case.

Deuces Wild Video Poker is just one of these examples. In this game, the twos are the wild cards and they can take the place of any of the other cards to make a winning combo. For obvious reasons, this increases the chances of a winning combination being drawn in the first place. That being said, the casino evens off the chances of winning by taking out certain combinations from the pay structure. For instance, the original game Jacks or higher pays out 1:1 and two pairs pays 2:1. In this game though, these combinations do not pay out at all.

That being said, this does not mean that either of the games are better than the others. When compared directly, casino players can see that the chances of winning big are the same in Deuces Wild as they are in Jacks or Better. For instance, the Jacks or Better game offers a return of 99.54%. On the other hand Deuces Wild offers a return of 99.6%. Obviously the chances of winning here are basically the same, so it would be a mistake to think there is a much better chance of winning either game just because the game has been changed slightly. That being said though, the Deuces Wild game does offer a slightly better return.
